HOLY SPIRIT ADORATION SISTERS

      Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters were founded by Blessed Arnold Janssen and Mother Mary Michael on 8 December, 1896 in Steyl, Holland. The Congregation was founded as contemplatives and we spend our time in silence and prayer. From the colour of our religious habit, we are also known as pink sisters.

      Do you wonder what part contemplative Sisters play in our modern world? It could seem a life irrelevant to the times in which we live. In reality, we Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters live a life of striking social dimensions reaching far beyond the confines of the cloister walls which encircle our solitude with Christ. Our contribution towards building a Christ-centered world is to bring the world to Him by way of prayer and self-giving. A cloistered Sister carries the whole world in her heart!

Our life as Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters is:

 

   

  • a life of silence, a life of listening to the Word of God that is love for herself and love for all of God's people.

  • allowing that Word of God to become the very center of her life.

  • Our cloistered life centers on the Eucharist. The most important time of day is the Eucharistic celebration. The Liturgy of the Hours spreads to the various hours of the day the praise and thanksgiving of the Eucharistic celebration. Service of perpetual adoration is our loving response to Christ's love for all people.
