In view of the beatification The
cause of beatification was started in the Apostolic Vicariate of Tsinafu,
afterwards Archdiocese with the name of Tsinan (China). The
Informative Process on the Reputation for holiness was begun on 10 January 1939,
and the Rogatory one, which was held in the Diocese of Bolzano, on 1 July 1939. The
Decree on the Introduction of the Cause bears the date of 22 June 1951. The
Process established in the Curia of Bolzano on two presumed miracles was opened
on 22 July 1952, and the Apostolic Process on the virtues and the miracles “in
specie” on 1 July 1953. The
Decree on the Heroic Virtues was promulgated on 16 March 1970. On
15 July 1974 the dispensation from the second miracle was granted. The
Decree of the Approval of the Miracle, required for the beatification, was
promulgated on 4 October 1974. The
Supreme Pontiff Paul VI proclaimed him blessed on 19 October 1975. 2)
In view of the canonization The
case of the cure presented for the canonization regards the young man, Jun
Yamada. The Diocesan Investigation was celebrated in the Diocese of Nagoya
(Japan) in 1999. The
Medical Consultation of the Dicastery, in its meeting of 10 December 2001,
examined the case and considers that the sickness of Jun Yamada was “acute
hybrid leukemia, phenotypically established, with severe pulmonary
complications, hypoxia from respiratory insufficiency and cardiac arrest, with
micotic and tubercular infection through immunodeficiency,” and that the cure
thus verified, despite an extremely limited and inadequate therapy, was rapid,
complete, lasting and scientifically inexplicable. On
18 October 2002 the Special Congress of Theological Consulters was held with
positive results, and on the following 3rd of December the Ordinary Session of
Cardinals and Bishops was held. The
Decree “super miraculo” was promulgated on 20 December 2002 in the presence
of the Holy Father John Paul II. Back to Top |
