Founded on 8 December, 1889, the Holy Spirit Sisters are an international community of women, nearly 4,000 world-wide, called to witness to the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit,  to be transformed by the Spirit, to hear and recognize the inner call, to reach out far and wide where the Gospel is not preached, through our life and prayer in community and through our participation in the mission of Jesus. Together with the Divine Word Society and the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, we were founded by Blessed Arnold Janssen SVD for continuing the work of Jesus. Based on the color of our dress, we are known in some places as Blue Sisters. Our activities include education, health care, communication, parish ministry, social services, fine arts, retreat work, spiritual direction and other services as the Spirit leads.

   Spread over around 40 communities In India, our three main centers are in Southern, Eastern and Central India.

   We invite and welcome Catholic women who feel called to follow Jesus and serve humanity by our way of life.
